On Monday, October 25, 2010 the Rev. Father JESÚS MANUEL MEJÍA QUIROZ was consecrated the new Missionary Bishop of the Missionary Anglican Catholic Diocese of Peru by Archbishop Michael B. Simmons, Ph.D., Archbishop of the Anglican Church of the Americas; Bishop Rosendo Usuga Híguita, the Diocese of Christ the Good Shepherd, Colombia; and Bishop Jose Moreno of Brazil. MISSION TO PERU

The mission to Peru occurred during the week of October 24-30, 2010. Archbishop Michael B. Simmons led a team on an unprecedented mission for the Anglican Church of the Americas. The Bishop of Colombia, +Rosendo Usuga Higuita; and the Bishop of Brazil, +Jose Moreno, assisted him during his Archiepiscopal Visit to Peru. While there the following five major goals were accomplished:

1. Padre Jesus+ Quiroz was consecrated as a Missionary Bishop in Lima Peru on Monday, October 25, 2010.
2. Five deacons were ordained in the morning of Tuesday, October 26, 2010, then the same men were ordained priests in the evening of the same day.
3. The New Missionary Anglican Catholic Diocese of Peru was established by teaching, vision-forecasting with leaders, meeting with the laity in the diocese, and visiting various churches including the Pro-Cathedral of Santa Clara, a suburb of Lima.
4. The new diocese was registered with the Peruvian government on Thursday, October 28, 2010.
5. Several evangelistic Masses were conducted with an emphasis upon making new converts of youths and introducing them to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. The result was that an estimated 400 persons accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior during the mission. Praise God!
