Mission to Peru

October 2010

These photos were taken at during the Mission to Peru which Archbishop Michael B. Simmons conducted in October 2010. Assisting him were Bishop Rosendo Usuga Higuita of the Diocese of Colombia and Bishop Jose Moreno of the Diocese of Brazil, the Anglican Church of the Americas. During the mission six major goals were accomplished:

1.       The consecration of Bishop Jesus Manuel Mejia Quiroz as the Missionary Bishop of Peru

2.       The ordination of six deacons

3.       The ordination of five priests

4.       The establishment of the new Diocese of Peru, the Anglican Church of the Americas

5.       The official registration of the new Diocese of Peru with the Peruvian government

6.       Evangelistic services which resulted in c. 400 persons committing their lives to Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior
